Our recent project involved a small courtyard garden that was previously empty and lacked atmosphere. The clients had a courtyard with an existing patio in good condition but wanted to add greenery and a water feature. Given the limited space, a traditional central water feature was not feasible. Instead, we opted for a creative solution that incorporated a living wall with a built-in water feature.
Living Wall with Integrated Water Feature:
A key element of our design was the living wall, which adds lush greenery to the courtyard without taking up valuable floor space. Living walls, also known as vertical gardens, are an excellent way to introduce plants into small areas. They consist of a structure that supports a variety of plants, creating a vertical garden that enhances air quality, reduces noise, and adds a striking visual element to any space.
Horizontal Water Feature:
To complement the living wall, we designed a sleek horizontal water feature. Positioned at the bottom of the courtyard, this feature is clad in elegant porcelain tiles and emits water in a simple, minimal line. The gentle flow of water adds a soothing ambiance to the courtyard, making it a perfect place to relax and unwind.
The clients were thrilled with the transformation of their courtyard garden. The combination of the living wall and water feature created a dynamic and tranquil space that they now enjoy daily.
