At Bradley and James, we recently had the pleasure of transforming a garden for a lovely retired couple who wanted to enjoy their outdoor space without the burden of heavy maintenance. They desired a peaceful sanctuary where they could relax, unwind, and enjoy the beauty of their garden all year round.
We began by installing brand-new low maintenance composite perimeter fencing to ensure privacy. The garden was thoughtfully zoned into three distinct areas to enhance both functionality and flow:
Elegant Porcelain Patio
Just off the house, we designed a stunning porcelain tiled patio, offering the perfect spot for outdoor dining or morning coffee. The clean, sleek lines of the tiles provide a contemporary yet timeless feel.
Lawn and Timber Bench Feature
Leading from the patio is a lush lawned area. Here, we designed a bespoke solid timber bench, we added planters at each end to soften the space with greenery. This area is perfect for peaceful moments, surrounded by nature.
Shed and Gravel Seating Area
To the right of the lawn, the couple requested a new shed, which we sourced and installed for them. Adjacent to this, we created a cosy seating area, featuring jet black gravel for contrast. This serene spot is ideal for enjoying a cup of tea while soaking up the garden views. To zone this area, we added a block-paved path that elegantly wraps around, tying the design together.
Throughout the garden, we introduced a variety of plants, including structural grasses and topiary trees, adding depth and texture to the space. The combination of soft greenery and clean, defined landscaping brings a sense of calm and balance to the garden.
The result – A stunning, easy-to-maintain garden where the couple can now relax and enjoy their outdoor space with minimal effort.
